Iron Chef Secrets

New, 2 comments

Nightline went behind the scenes at Iron Chef America to find out what makes the show tick. Answer: 127 crew members, 10 cameras, 800 pounds of food, 150 pounds of dry ice. And of course the celebrity chefs, the Chairman's "nephew," the judges, the secret ingredient, and Alton Brown, the mighty observer: "This season there's been a fair amount of blood. People have been cutting themselves, lopping off things...You know, [the chefs] become big on TV and they become sloppy with knife skills. It's like, 'Oops! I've cut the dickens out of myself.' You know, blood all over....Sous chefs are laughing." [Nightline via Serious Eats]
