Earlier this year it was reported that John Papadakis was ready to let a Marie Callendar's replace Papadakis Tavern, a family-run Greek restaurant that's anchored a San Pedro corner since 1973. That deal didn't go through, but according to the Daily Breeze, Papadakis is still looking to sell. There was a listing for the restaurant in the Hellenic News of America newsletter---$500k for the business plus $2.5 for the property at Sixth and Centre streets---but the broker says the family wants to find someone to carry on the existing restaurant business. "There's a lot of criteria." But if there's another former USC linebacker willing to give bear hugs and kisses to everyone who walks in to your restaurant, jump on it.
