LOS ANGELES: dineLA has announced its 2009 Restaurant Week dates: January 25-30 and February 1-6. After the initial launch event in early 2008, reviews were mixed, but restaurants were mostly pleased. Just looking at the numbers, it was a success: Participating restaurants saw a 25% average increase in business with an estimated 100,000 customers served. And, of the 140 restaurants that participated in the event in 2008, 90% said they'd do it again next year. [Eater Inbox]

ECHO PARK: Last Saturday night City Sip owner Nicole Daddio held a "business shower" for friends and family of her new wine bar, which we've been ply-stalking for some time now. Daddio's self-described "wine for the people" will open next week with small bites, "mainly cheese and charcuterie," and prices on the reasonable side. [Eater Inbox/Daily Dish]
