Voila, some post-ply shots of Apple Restaurant, which we've been tracking here for quite some time. Apple opens Friday as one-third of a new complex in the former Pearl space on Robertson; Apple Lounge by NY club kid Alison Melnick is in sneak previews and a Pussycat Dolls Lounge is also coming soon. The space is cool and metallic outside and warm and woody inside--is this some kind of velvet rope symbolism? Also, there's a sweet patio with a recycled aluminum awning. From our last chat with chef Bryan Ogden: he's building on dad Bradley Odgen's legacy, "sustainable seafood and naturally-raised meats and poultry," and a firm commitment to the local/seasonal thing: "It is an incredible opportunity for me to get back to California and be closer to the farmers." And he'll also be closer to the Pussycat Dolls. Here's the menu, previously. (665 N. Robertson Blvd., 310.358.9191; website)
