EaterWire: More on Talesai's Closing, Kokomo As Peach Pit, Lamenting the Loss of a Burbank Chain, MORE

New, 4 comments

WEHO: Last week we told you about Talesai on Sunset Boulevard closing until November, but now we have more details: revamping the kitchen, wine storage and decor; there will be a new menu; the restaurant celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Sister restaurant Cafe Talesai is still open in Beverly Hills. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY: Because the CW's new 90201 remake used the Kokomo Cafe on Beverly Boulevard as a stand-in for the Peach Pit, the restaurant will have kickoff party when the show airs in September and a special menu throughout the month. And oh did they get clever with the names: "Nat Your Average Smoothie," in honor of Peach Pit owner Nat Bussichio and "Leggo My Eggold," named for one of the actors. You get the idea. [EaterWire]

BURBANK: And a quickie Shutter from a reader: "I went to have a nice dinner at Ramano's located in Burbank only to find that it has closed its doors. Any idea what happened? It always seemed to be a busy hotspot for those shopping and taking in a movie in the area." We think that location closed a couple months ago, which could be more about an overall company restructuring that many chains are going through these days than its lack of business. [EaterWire]

NATIONAL: The tickets for the Bocuse d'Or USA semi finals went on sale this morning. Tickets run $450 per person and include complimentary park admission to Epcot & the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for Friday and Saturday. You can get tickets by calling 407-WDW-FEST. [Eater NY]
