Craft: One year in, floors need replaced
CENTURY CITY: A reader queried about not being able to get a reservation at Craft for most of next week, and now we know why: Per GM Adam Rosenbaum, the restaurant will be closed August 30 until September 5 because some plumbing issues caused substantial water damage to the hardwood floors which now have to be replaced. Reservation lines, however, will still be open all days except Aug 31-Sept 1. [EaterWire]
MID-CITY: Blackburn & Sweetzer has news that the Wokcano is expanding into the now-defunct guitar store on 3rd Street. [B&S]
ANYWHERE: If you've ever wanted to slurp noodles or seek out the best dumplings in the SGV with Jonathan Gold: Buy a $20 raffle ticket for a chance to win dinner with the LA Weekly and Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic. You pick the restaurant, he dines with you and a friend (and we presume he pays). Proceeds go to Taking the Reins, a non-profit organization that works with lower-income or at-risk girls. Winners will be announced on October 12. [Eater Inbox]
