Top Chef fanatics: meet your new Season 5 cheftestants. Via the Mothership, we have the the first paparazzi shots of the group leaving their home base in Williamsburg from NYC photographer Kurt Strahm. If this is who's left at this stage of the game (they've been filming for a couple weeks so several challenges and eliminations have taken place), we have four females and at least six male chefs and not a faux hawk nor a tattoo in site. Looks like the Colicchio-esque shaved head is the hairstyle of choice for the NYC season, and a female chef could be taking over Spike's role as the self-consciously stylish contestant (the backwards hat, the high tops).
Now, fans, restaurant industry insiders—and anyone else unencumbered by a million dollar confidentiality agreement—it's your turn to do your part. We heard a new interesting rumor that there may be two Los Angeles cheftestants this year. Recognize anyone?
