Plywood Tracking: Take a Bao, Rendered

This here is the first rendering we've seen of Take a Bao, a new steamed-bun fast-cas that's opening in the Westfield Century City mall. Tentative debut dates have passed (June, July), but the barricade will probably come down sometime this month. A refresher: the buns will be less traditional, more contemporary (think: pomegranate skirt steak, crispy fish) with sides and salads to mix and match; former Rocca/Matteo chef Don Dickman is helping things along; space is designed by Johnston Marklee, who also did the Hungry Cat; and there will be counter seats in addition to the mall tables. This is the first of what founder Brent Stein hopes to be many. Hey, the mall was the right testing ground for RockSugar, which seems to always be packed.
