The movie "Bottle Shock," the movie some lucky Eater readers got to screen in advance, opens today (Arclight, Laemmle theaters), and the food writers at both the Los Angeles Times and Daily News disccus the movie, the 1976 tasting event that the it's loosley based on when California wines beat the French at a blind tasting, the vino, the characters, the hits, the misses. For us the movie was good---not "Sideways great"---but good and entertaining (except for the wig Chris Pine wears as Bo Barett...horrible). A must-see for anyone interested in wine or Alan Rickman (he really steals it). Make plans for wine after or before---you'll want it. [ELA; LAT; LADN]
