EaterWire: Milano's Must Vacate, More Olympic Deals

WOODLAND HILLS: An update from our WoHi watcher: "Just spotted the notice to vacate sign attached to the front door of the former Milano's in Warner Center. They shut down in early July, but literally nothing has moved inside. Tables are still set, lights still dimly lit, bottles still on shelves, etc. I heard that they may have had their lease terminated over failure to pay rent for the last few months." DOWNTOWN: So we're cleaning out the inbox...more Olympic deals for your gold medal-grubbing pleasure. Noe at the Omni will feature an array of dim sum--- foie gras dumplings, seafood shumai, duck and lapchang (Chinese sausage) glutinous rice and egg custard tarts---in the patio and lounge in honor of the Beijing games. $18 or $32 depending on how many people. (GO USA! USA! USA!) [EaterWire Inbox]

CULVER CITY-adj: The games inspired the chefs at Beacon to create things like farmer's market stirfried bok choy, pork and shrimp potstickers, softshell crab rolls, scallion pancakes and the like. (GO USA! USA! USA!) [EaterWire Inbox]

WEST HOLLYWOOD: Not Olympic but 8/8/08-related: beginning today BOA Steakhouse on Sunset Boulevard has a four-course menu for $88.08 per couple. The restaurant will run the special for 88 days, which on the surface seems to follow the 8-theme, but 88 days from now is October---close to the time the restaurant relocates to the new digs in Luckman Plaza.
