MID-CITY: If you haven't decided what to do for dinner yet tonight, Tasca has a special $25 food and wine pairing menu that starts at 7pm and continues throughout the night. Four tapas, four Central Coast wines (Casa Barranca, Cordon, Kuyam). Reservations are required (323.951.9890). [EaterWire]

MELROSE: Saying he wants to focus on dinner and "his love of football," chef Eric Greenspan calls it quits on weekend brunch at The Foundry. No more pancake sausage egg lasagna for you. [Eater Inbox]

SANTA MONICA: Drink.Eat.Play will throw its first Los Angeles BBQ Festival on September 13 and 14 in the parking lot next to the Santa Monica Pier. You'll have food from locals Mr. Cecil's, Baby Blues BBQ, Gus's BBQ, and Parise's, plus Ubon's and L.C.'s BBQ from afar. $10 to get in and you'll pay extra for all the food ($10 for 'cue, $3-$7 for sides, desserts and beverages). And then they're offering a $50 "VIP pass," which basically entitles you to cut in front of people in line and a free T-shirt---you'll still pay for all the food and bevvies. Noon to 6pm both days.
