Calorie Counting

New, 9 comments

The state senate said yes this weekend to calorie labeling at all California chain restaurants. If Schwarzenegger signs the bill into law, some 17,000 chains will be required to give patrons calorie information, making California the first state to do so. The labeling measure, SB 1420, would take full effect in 2011. So will this override the LA County Supervisors' proposal for the same in unincorporated areas of the county? [LAT; ELA]
