Amex Publishing Sheds Lettie Teague, Other F&W Staffers

In part of American Express Publishing's effort to cut labor costs across all of their publishing units, the company laid off 33 employees on Friday, including Food & Wine's Executive Wine Editor (and ex-wife of Alan Richman) Lettie Teague. She will continue to write her column Wine Matters but will no longer work in a full time capacity at the magazine. We hear the layoffs are ongoing and many staffers are still being alerted. This isn't the first news of the recession hitting the food media world, and we're afraid it won't be the last.
