Status: Opened yesterdayAlon Raphael, former owner of Bel-Air Bar & Grill, has set his sights on a new restaurant, Raphael, which debuted yesterday. While the space once housed a recording studio, it was redesigned into a 60-seat restaurant by Alon's mother and now boasts teak paneling, cyrstal sconces, and a bamboo bar. Stephen Barkulis, a former Water Grill chef, is in the kitchen and has organized a short world bistro cuisine menu. A little bit of this and a little bit of that from Cali to France to Japan.
