Status: Opened yesterdayAfter a tiff with his father in law, Top Chef season five contestant Fabio Viviani stepped out of Cafe Firenze and into a new engagement with Lisa Long owner of Barsac Brasserie. Fabio has transformed the North Hollywood French brasserie into an Italian bistro, Firenze Osteria, with minor interior renovations in the dining room and an upstairs lounge and private rooms in the works. Expect classic Italian fare from osso bucco to gnocchi with pesto and a fun cocktail menu with over thirty curious creations (think vinaigrette, muddled strawberries, rum) plus the requisite list of wines, over thirty offered by the glass. While the eatery is currently soft opened, it will debut officially on October 24.
