Kingswood, All About The Bread, Pizza.Pasta.Salad

1) WeHo: One Sunset died not too long ago, Mirabelle and Red Rock seem to continue on, and now Kingswood wants to be sandwiched in among them in that congested stretch of Sunset just east of Holloway on the south side of the street. Owner Nick Mathers (don't think he's related to Mr.Eminem) hails from Australia and already owns a bar of the same name in NYC's West Village. The East Coast operation is marked by hipsters sipping drinks amid golden-hued lighting, lots of wood, scattered garden plants, and brown/black hues. The LA location should be similar with a fireplace and patio out back, though Mathers is currently having permits issues so doesn't expect an opening for several months. [EaterWire]

2) Mid-City: T Salon is now open and its next door neighbor All About The Bread is preparing a debut of its own. Peering in we noticed sandwich signage up from a build-your-own to a veggie option, "The Godfather," caprese, meatball and "The Works." An under construction website reads, "Best Italian sub sandwiches coming to melrose" but doubtful it will be better than Bay Cities. [EaterWire]

3) Mid-City: Moving in south of All About The Bread and taking over the old Anna Maria's space comes Pizza.Pasta.Salad as noted by Grub Street. Look for "New York-style thin crust pizza and other homey Italian eats, with the possible inclusion of live jazz, plus a confirmed outdoor patio for smoking" in early 2010. [GS]
