The Yard Gets New Chef, New Look

Back in July Top Chef season three contestant Chris "CJ" Jacobsen joined forces with The Yard to take over kitchen duties. Now, on November 10 the Santa Monica self-titled neighborhood gastropub will relaunch its new look, with a new menu and CJ on board. Overall the attempt has been made to turn The Yard into more of a foodie destination rather than a happy hour hangout. CJ has been working on his seasonal American tapas menu which includes the likes of Tenerelli Farm Peaches with Buratta and Root Beer braised Pork Belly with homemade tater tots. Changes are also underway at the bar and now Blake Landis (Bar Chloe) is armed and ready to serve up market-driven cocktails and over 30 bottled beers with four on tap and two more to be added shortly. Stop by after 9p on November 10 to hang with the top cheffer and partake in opening specials.
