A while back we noticed some plywood action on La Cienega across the street from the Roger Room, and as it turns out the space, which opens on Wednesday, will be a smallish cafe called Soda Pop's. B+S scored some initial interior photos that depict the cafe's simple clean design with rectangular blonde wood tables and white walls adorned with vintage French beverage advertisements. In the food department look for lunch fare including Flank Steak ‘N’ Blue (balsamic marinated flank steak, caramelized onions, gorgonzola, grilled radicchio on crusty baguette) and French ham and cheese (rosemary ham, Camembert, cornichons, trappist apple mustard on baguette) --seems to be a French theme going on here. Other lunchy items include salads, sweets, and the requisite soda pop. Opening hours are Mon-Sat 11AM-5PM. [B+S]
