New, 4 comments

VENICE— Good news for anyone who has attempted to score a seat at Axe during weekend brunch hours. No more wait because about three weeks ago the Abbot Kinney restaurant acquired the necessary permits required to serve food on its patio. Check out all that open space! [EaterWire]

ENCINO— It's now about five months in but, according to neighboring businesses, Chili My Soul has shuttered as a result of the owner's death. Regardless, the website seems to be alive and well, though there are no plans of reopening the retails space on Balboa. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— After a slew of delays, The Gorbals reopened earlier this month, and as of tomorrow Ilan Hall will add lunch service (11AM-3PM, M-F) plus several new menu including a $6 burger and $9 fish and chips. In addition, beginning December 7, the eatery will also be open on Mondays. [EaterWire]
