Larchmont Bungalow Furniture Showroom?

New, 19 comments

Eater reported yesterday on Larchmont Bungalow's ultimatum (drop the tables and chairs by today or get shut down by the city) and decided to swing by to check on the status. Charmingly, Bungalow is complying—by throwing price tags on all their tables and chairs and putting them up for sale. A prominent sign in the window advertised a free fresh lobster with purchase of a table. Prices range from $199 for a chair to $12K for a vintage espresso machine.

The coffee shop—which was bustling—also had prominent signage explaining that all their food was available for takeout only. The tables and chairs, presumably, are there merely as a convenience for patrons while the furniture awaits sale. A representative of Larchmont Bungalow was outside collecting names for a petition to allow them to have seating like "all the other coffee shops" which, according to him, have the exact same conditions of use.
