Bad News-Good News: Surya to Close, Chef/Menu to Move

Owner Sheel Joshi has sold Surya, his contemporary Indian restaurant that's been a mainstay on Third St. for close to a decade. Surya will shutter in mid-December and in its place will rise The Burger Factory, an upscale burger and beer joint, reports LA Weekly.

The good news? Surya's chef, Khem Singh Shahani, will be moving down the street to Joshi's other restaurant, the Indian fast-food spot Holy Cow and bringing Surya's entire menu with him. Hit up Surya while you have the chance—regular hours until they close next month.
