CULVER CITY— Daily Dish learns that Thierry Perez, former co-owner of Fraiche, plans to open Waterloo & City, a "British-style gastropub with a predominantly Italian and French menu" either end of this month or early 2010. Early reports suggested a different name for the eatery, though the Crest House location remains the same. Perez has partnered with Carlos Tomazos, manager at the uber decadent Gilt in the NY Palace Hotel, and a third unnamed party/chef who has worked in both London and LA. As always, chef speculations welcome in the comments. [DD]

MID-CITY— Starting tomorrow and every Wednesday through the month of December, Marino Ristorante (pictured right) on Melrose offers an additional Neapolitan-style menu featuring Italian classics that are often served during the holidays. Dishes are served family-style and will change weekly. [EaterWire]

VEGAS, BABY— Tomorrow morning CityCenter's first hotel, Vdara Hotel & Spa, opens to the public. Many, many more to come. [EaterWire]
