Critics V. Restaurants

2009_12_sydneyql.jpgDown in Australia, a food critic for a major newspaper has finally won a lawsuit filed against him by a restaurant that he panned, six years ago. The restaurant in question closed six months after his review, and then sued both the critic and the newspaper for defamation. The Supreme Court judge has ruled that the critic's smackdown was "entirely defensable" because it was an honest opinion, and thus the restaurant is not entitled to damages.
