New Downtown Sushi Spot, Delays at The Surly Goat, Johnny Rockets Turns Lounge

New, 2 comments

1) Downtown: Near BottleRock and across the street from Hygge Bakery at 11th and Hope comes a new sushi restaurant which has just broken ground. According to the building's real estate agent, it will be called something to the extent of Urasi or Orashi, (the name spelling was unknown) and is expected to debut March 2010. [EaterWire]

2) West Hollywood: Don't put your drinking cap on just yet. Though construction is just about done and finishing touches are happening now, The Surly Goat has run into liquor license issues. Oy. Could be two weeks, could be two months. It's safe to say the opening will have to happen in the new year. [EaterWire]

3) Around Town: Johnny Rockets is about to open a new sports bar concept in NY titled Johnny Rockets Sports Lounge. According to chief executive Lee Sanders, "a Los Angeles franchisee is considering opening" such an outpost, perhaps in a newer pre-existing Johnny Rockets that has more space. On another note, a separate third Johnny Rockets concept is planned to open in LA. [OCR]
