Culver City: At the corner of Culver Blvd, directly opposite Trader Joe's, we thought it time to check in with plywood vet Kay 'n Dave's. The CC corner location is owner Dave Licht's fourth branch of his growing mini-chain, and from the exterior, the new space is in final stages. Design-wise, it has more modern lines and a cleaner look than its previous incarnation as Pacifico's, and (bonus!) the side patio is anchored by a counter-top fire pit. With Chipotle already doing strong business for the moviegoer crowd, Kay 'n Daves will have to jostle its way into the competitive CC corner; its promise of a full bar will help. The current ETA is set for April.
