MANHATTAN BEACH—Speaking of similar shutters, it's come to our attention that La Creperie in Manhattan Beach is doneski too. According to sources on the ground there, the entire interior is already gutted, the walls stripped and the bar dismantled. [EaterWire]

LOS ANGELES—While restaurants extend their DineLA menus, some of the Innovative Dining Group restaurants are offering Sunday-Thursday deals that, well, may or may not be deals. Both Boa steakhouses have $40 three-course menus, Katana has a $35 four-course version, and Sushi Roku has a three-courser special too. [Zagat]

EUROPE—From the BBC comes a nomination for the worst bartender in the history of the world: "A Berlin barman has gone on trial accused of having served a 16-year-old boy 45 tequila shots, which killed him ... The 28-year-old barman, identified only as Aytac G, allegedly had a drinking bet with the schoolboy, but poured mostly water for himself." [BBC]

SANTA MONICA/'BUCKSWIRE—In one of the more enjoyable overheard conversations we've read lately, one coffee drinker recaps just another day at the Santa Monica Starbucks. You've gotta love LA. [Tumblr]
