EaterWire: Hollywood Bar Changes, New Zu Robata Chef

HOLLYWOODMetromix reports some bar scene changes from Hollywood, where Play has been shuttered and will return in a few months with a new concept: "For their next act, Hoss tells me that the little Yucca Street bar will come back to life in April as a 'bohemian bar specializing in absinthe.'" WEST LA—Wilshire Boulevard's Zu Robata has imported a new executive chef from Chicago. Kee Chan was previously at Heat in the Windy City, and will put a seasonal spin on the robatayaki grill menu. [EaterWire]

BEVERLY HILLS—Next Tuesday, Morton's will offer a $45 absinthe tasting. The event is called "Absinthe: The Green Hour," and will highlight four different preparations of absinthe (dripped through a sugar cube, in a sazerac, etc.) that will be paired with four bar bites. More info here. [EaterWire]
