ECHO PARK—Technically Two Boots opened a fortnight ago, but its "grand" opening is tonight was last night, and you can bet it was busy: "Two Boots officially launches itself by offering free slices and soda. Owner Phil Hartman will be there to join in the festivities." Update: The promo was Thursday night, but anyone with early thoughts on Two Boots is encouraged to share and we'll put together a Good News/Bad News for next week. [LAT]

MIAMI—Last night, Rachael Ray's Burger Bash rang in the '09 South Beach Wine & Food Fest. Here's what you missed: Top Chef alum Spike Mendelsohn took top honors at the Burger Bash, though many considered the burger by The Counter to be one of the best. Elsewhere in Miami, a tipsy Mario Batali has already called the actual King and Queen of Spain "weasel f--- wads." Lovely. [SoBeWire, previously]

WEHO—A new "tapas" menu is coming to Ortolan. From Zagat: "On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Third Street boîte is offering a a 'Nibbles Menu' at its bar and lounge; prices range from $7 for dishes like burrata with chorizo to $14 for short ribs with a potato soufflé" [Zagat]

THE OC—The man behind Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ is working on a new barbecue concept that will replace a longstanding diner in Orange: "Craig Hofman, who owns Lucille’s and Hof’s Hut, said his new barbecue brand does not have a name yet. It will open in late summer or early fall, replacing a Hof’s Hut coffee house at 4050 W. Chapman Ave. in Orange." [FFM]
