The Shutter: Zu Robata, Leonidas Chocolate Cafe

New, 5 comments

The Shutter reports on departing, or departed, restaurants and bars around town. Seen someone close the door for the last time? Drop us a line.

2009_03_zurobata.jpg1) West LA: Even though Zu Robata just appointed a new chef last month, the Wilshire Boulevard robatayaki gril has closed. Chicago import Kee Chan was going to put a new seasonal spin on the menu, but it looks like time simply ran out for the restaurant before it could get a second wind. All may not be lost though, as a comeback under new ownership might be in the works, as seen from some new liquor license activity. [EaterWire]

2) Century City: A tipster sends along word that the Century City branch of Leonidas Chocolate Cafe closed last week. Especially with the holidays and Valentine's Day in the rear view mirror, we suppose that this is no climate for specialty chocolates. [EaterWire]
