EaterWire: Hatfield's Menu Tweaks, Print Media Woes

New, 4 comments

BEVERLY BLVD—Beginning tomorrow, Hatfield's will be expanding on its three-course market prix fixe dinner to include the entire a la carte menu. In other words, diners at the Michelin-starred bistro can now choose any appetizer, entree, and dessert for $49. [EaterWire]

PRINT MEDIA—While Saveur is apparently killing it these days, the outlook isn't so rosy at fellow Conde Nasties Gourmet and Bon Ap: "...the January issue of Gourmet and the March issue of Bon Appetit each totaled a paltry 108 pages — only six pages above the 102-page minimum set by Condé Nast. Anything less than 98 pages and you can't even glue a magazine together." [EMD via ENY]

DOWNTOWN—The good folks at Casey’s pass along word that they will be closed from Sunday, March 22 through Tuesday, March 24 for some quick repairs and maintenance. They will reopen for regular business hours on Wednesday, March 25. Also, they served nearly 5,000 guests on St. Patrick’s Day, including 28 kegs of Guinness, 16 kegs of Smithwicks, and 16 kegs of green beer. [EaterWire]

ZAGATLAND—Restaurants, it's time to start your annual begging: from now until April 12th, Zagat voting is open. Also? Worst incentives ever. [Zagat]

PASADENA—Michael Montoya, formerly the chef at Green Street Tavern, has now signed on at Equator. For now, there won't be any big changes, but he will be bringing some dishes to the menu. [EaterWire]
