Coupled with the down economy, the changing cookbook arena—i.e. chain store competition and the rise of the internet—proved too much for Cook's Library. Suzanne Goin's reaction pretty much captures the way the food community is handling the news: "... she sounded close to tears. 'Noooo,' she said, 'that's the most horrible thing I've heard. Oh my God, the world is coming to an end.'" [LAT]
