1) Downtown: Opening today is Corkbar, the wine bar in the shadow of the Staples Center. Around 40 glasses are offered by the glass, and the food menu (now online) is mostly market-driven small plates. We took a tour of the space a few weeks ago, so we'll refer you there for more details and shots from the space. 403 W. 12th Street; (213) 746-0050; website [EaterWire]

2) Fairfax: Another plywood vet making its anticipated debut today is Golden State. The cafe—the brainchild of Jason Bernstein and James Starr—is now open for lunch and dinner. As you'll recall, it's an ode to California: sandwiches from a consulting Samir Mohajer, ice cream from Scoops, good local beer and more. 426 N. Fairfax Avenue; (323) 782-8331; website [EaterWire]

3) Downtown: Quite the busy week for downtown openings, no? On the corner of Sixth and Spring in the Hayward Hotel, D-Town Burger Bar is finally up and running after some permitting delays. It's billing itself as a modern 50s diner with burgers in the In-N-Out style. 216 W. Sixth Street; (213) 228-0022 [EaterWire]
