GLENDALE—As you may have heard by now, this Saturday will mark the debut of the Gigi’s Farmer’s Market at The Americana at Brand. It's scheduled to take place from 10 am to 2pm, and some familiar eateries will have stalls there too. Frida’s Mexican Cuisine will be churning out its tacos/tamales, and Crumbs will be selling cupcakes. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN—"Dumbstruck" by the sheer enormity of Bottega Louie, Jonathan Gold shares some early thoughts on the downtown behemoth: "The cooking was a bit wobbly in the restaurant’s first week, but I suspect the kitchen will find its groove ... STUDIO CITY—Via Eat: LA, Kiwami will be holding a $90 sake-pairing dinner next Monday, April 20th. Katsuya Uech will be on hand to present his signature dishes paired with premium sakes (and a sake expert too). [Eat: LA]

That should make for plenty of awkward conversation, no? Related: review the local nominees. [~ENY~]
