California is already poised to ban foie gras, but local animal-rights groups are still giving restaurants a hard time and given the economy, some restaurants are being forced to cave to the bullies: "Her group's single message is clear: serve foie gras and your restaurant will be picketed. That's a risk Five Feet Restaurant in Laguna Beach couldn't take in this down economy. 'We just didn't want the negative publicity,' said owner Michael Kang, who scrapped using the liver dish."
