Plywood Report: Capitol City Confirmed

New, 1 comment

Two weeks ago we mentioned that Curtis Nysmith supposedly had taken over the old Goa location in Hollywood, and had plans to turn it in to an upscale sports bar called Capitol City. Food GPS snagged some coverage on the newbie, sharing the August 1 opening date, in addition to a few other details. The design team behind the deluxe sports bar is none other than Tag Front (BOA, Blue Velvet, Luckyfish, Takami), and the finished product will resemble a building one might find "along the D.C. waterfront" with lots of brick and stone, plus windows that roll-up for an open-air feel. Capitol City is also slated to showcase 46 TVs, and serve upscale California bar food from burgers to tuna tartare. Within the sports bar will be an additional British pub called The Chelsea Arm, which will serve English beers and ales on tap. [PLYWOOD]
