The Dish: Boa Sunset Opens Tonight

New, 4 comments

Back in Feb of '08 we confirmed rumors that Boa Steakhouse at the Grafton Hotel was moving to a new location in the Luckman Building at 9200 Sunset. Then, this past January, we broke details that the space would encompass "4,000-square-feet of 'sexy sophistication,' outdoor dining and lounge, firepits, private dining rooms," and that the opening date was slated for Spring. As it happens all too frequently in the world of restaurants, the date got pushed back, and last week we updated you, to some people's disbelief, that the resto would finally open the following week. Which brings us to today. At 5:30 this evening, BOA Sunset will officially open for dinner service. We dropped by yesterday to snag some photos and uncovered that, in addition to the huge outdoor dining patio with its own bar/lounge, the restaurant will also include a cocktail lounge behind the interior bar, and a private dining area that can be split in two rooms. While the menu remains the same as other BOA restaurants, BOA Sunset will feature a 250-bottle wine list (with some bottles dating back to the 1920s), over 50 wines available by the glass or carafe, as well as 600 rare spirits that includes Kentucky Moonshine. Reports from the scene welcome.
