A hybrid between San Francisco's Ferry Building Marketplace and Grand Central Market is in the works for the Douglas Building's indoor atrium. Though on a smaller scale, the 3RD + SPRING Artisan Market, will span 2,500 15,000 square feet and is actively seeking out merchants that do not yet exist in Downtown. On Monday the first business will debut; a partnership between organic, fair trade coffee producer Lot 44 Coffee and seasonal cupcake producer Blue Cupcake. [blogdowntown]
