Plywood Report: A.Shack Takes Over Melograno

Seems like a mini burger boom lately. Umami opened, as did Rowdy Red Wine & Burger Bar,Mini Bites, The Counter in Westlake, and then who could forget Eric Greenspan's Burger Bout challenge against Mr.Father's Office earlier this week. Well, now another to add to the list. Melograno took the shutter back in May, and in its place comes a new burger joint called A-Shack A.Shack.Hollywood. From first time restaurant owners Daniel Roescheisen and his partner Marijana in collaboration with Spacecraft designer Kris Keith (Boho, Essex, and Bar Delux), A.Shack will feature a casual indoor/outdoor patio-style eating area with an outdoor beer and wine bar plus wooden deck. Chef Carlos Cedeno has constructed a burger-friendly menu with salads, fries, veggie options, and even dessert. Pending permits and construction, this burger shack is slated to debut late Sept/early October, and will be open Thursday-Saturday, 11am-4am, and Sunday-Wednesday,11am-11pm. Quite convenient for the late-night house crowds, that is, Jane's House and Playhouse.
