EaterWire: Murakami is Back, Vardo in Venice, Little Next Door Gets a Bar

HOLLYWOOD— After closing their nine year old West Hollywod sushi spot in 2006, Tadashi and Kanako Murakami are back again this time with Murakami located on Wilcox just North of Hollywood Blvd. They have cut back a bit on the menu (this time no sake or beer), and do note the weird hours: Tues-Sun, 11:30a to 7:30p. VENICE— The previously reported small Mediterranean cafe on Main Street in Venice now has a name, Vardo. The owners are currently experimenting with outdoor seating and it looks like the opening will be in about two weeks. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— It's not exactly a plywood report, but the Little Next Door recently underwent a bit of construction. Owners 86ed the prior display cases to make room for a full on marble bar, creating more seating and perhaps a later crowd. [B+S]
