Welcome back to the Plywood Report, your ongoing chronicle of the next generation of restaurants and bars to hit LA. Spot some fresh ply on your block? You know the number.
Mid-City: Pastis shuttered last month, and in its place at 8114 Beverly Blvd. comes House Cafe. Slated to open mid-August, Blackburn and Sweetzer nabbed a current exterior shot. [B+S]
Westwood: Another quickie update on the expanding Sunnin. The hole-in-the-wall-no-more will open up its vastly expanded digs on Aug 1. [PLYWOOD]
Westwood: Also on the Westwood Blvd. front comes location two for Alcazar, this time titled Alcazar Express. Taking over the old Danube location, the Middle Eastern restaurant with its original location in Encino will serve up the same Lebanese/Armenian menu, and though it was originally slated to open in May, the new estimated debut is in August. So many August openings, so little time. [PLYWOOD]
