Is LA running out of restaurants to review? First it was Napa, now SIV has chosen ParkAve in Orange County as her next object of affection. She anoints two stars to the retro-inspired eatery for its classic offerings that are made with better ingredients like "fresh clipped" lettuce from the restaurant's garden. SIV likes the cozy interior and reasonably priced menu, especially the tomato soup which she describes as comfort in a mug. Salads are extra fresh and "perky" and when it comes to entrees, "the kitchen has all of the bases covered." There's a "fine" burger in addition to several more modern dishes that involve venison and antelope. "With good, simple cooking, moderate prices, a fun and comfortable atmosphere and a wonderful wine list priced affordably, [ParkAve] is perfect for the times." [LAT]
