A shocker to many, after almost 20 years of business, The Novel Cafe on Pier in Santa Monica recently posted a sign stating that due to a landlord-tenant dispute, it "will no longer be at 212 Pier Street ..." While other Novel Cafes do exist, the Pier St. space was the original and served as both a restaurant and popular writer's alcove. [LA Observed]
