The MEGA Dish: BP Oysterette, Fifth Amendment Alehouse, The Den, Syrup Desserts

Tons and tons of openings galore. Spot one more? Let us know.

1) Santa Monica: Though the official opening doesn't come until Thursday, tonight marks Blue Plate Oysterette's soft launch. There are three wooden picnic tables outside, wicker bar stool chairs, and lots of oceany blues and foamy whites from the wall colors to the lights all reminiscent of the sea and a casual beachside hangout. Management is still looking for line cooks and oyster shuckers so if you have three or more years experience in the seafood arena, apply at the Wilshire cafe. 1355 Ocean Ave. [EaterWire]

2) Santa Monica: Still on the Santa Monica front, just a few block down from BP Oysterette comes Fifth Amendment Alehouse starting soft today. Fifth Amendment (what happens in Fifth Amendment stays in Fifth Amendment?), is brought to you by husband and wife duo Eden Noe and Daniel Petrovich who have created a sausage and craft beer emporium just steps away from the Santa Monia Pier. Choose from 20 beers on tap and over 30 in bottle, some of which (on tap) include include Delerium Tremens, Mamas Yellow Pils Lager, Duchesse De Borgogne, and St. Bernardus Abt 12. Not sure how those ubiquitous 3rd Street Promenade tourists will feel about a lama burger ($10), but perhaps one might take to the elk and porcini mushroom sausage ($9), or rather the traditional Hebrew National dog ($4), but here is the menu in all its exotic glory. We did notice, however, that some of the listed sausages are also available at Wurstkuche, cheaper. But hey, that extra few bucks is the price you pay for convenience. On another note, where are the fries!? 129 Broadway; 310-386-1428; website [EaterWire]

3) West Hollywood: Today also marks the official debut for Michael Gans' The Den of Hollywood in the old Hadaka Sushi aka sexual sushi spot. High five to Michael for pulling it all together so quickly and not running into too many delays like the others. The above shots really show how much work went into The Den from the orange-topped bar to the padded booths, fireplace, wooden banquette with built in seating, it all looks so sparkly clean and new. 8226 W. 4) Downtown: And the one opening that wasn't today took place on Sunday at Syrup Desserts. According to blogdowntown, the standouts so far are the waffles and crepes, but don't be mislead because the restaurants serves savories as well. This week's hours are 9a-8p, but next week hours will expand to 7a-11. 611 S. Spring Street; 213-488-5136
