Hollywood: David Judaken, better known for clubby venues like MyHouse, Opera/Crimson, and Mood, has soft opened his first restaurant, East. Situated on Hollywood Blvd., the modern Asian eatery is currently open with very limited reservations until its official public debut on October 6. You've seen the dark meets light space, now here are a few more tidbits on the menu headed by chef Keven Alan Lee (Lutèce in Vegas). Overall look for small plates incorporating Asian and French influences. Signature dishes include Thai red snapper with a spicy citrus tomato and pepper concasse, organic free-range chicken with five spice, coupled with chicken confit, bamboo rice, drizzled with opal basil lychee gastrique, and for dessert coconut Tahitian vanilla croissant pudding. In addition to the main menu guests will also have the option of choosing from both a sashimi and raw bar menu. 6611 Hollywood Blvd.; 323-462-2178
