WESTLAKE VILLAGE— Grub Street notes the comedic rename from Bad Ass Coffee to Royal Aloha Coffee. Apparently "the community" was not happy with the original name, so owner Narinder Kumar made the switch. But the best part is that Bad Ass Coffee is an international chain and this is the only location that has undergone a name changeroo. [GS via VCS]
BURBANK— For those that want to try out a food-filled event without breaking the bank, Taste of Downtown Burbank is the one. Participating restaurants include Barney’s Beanery, Gourmet 88, Granville Cafe, Market City Caffe, Picahna, Pomodoro Porto’s Bakery & Cafe (plus a few others) and will only set you back $25 if you act now. STUDIO CITY— Per some PR news apparently the "Patina Restaurant Group has catered the Primetime Emmys for 14 years." In celebration of the upcoming gala Pinot Bistro will offer the same Emmy menu prepared for the stars from Sept 21-26. The three course menu costs $60 and does not include vino. [EaterWire]
