Directly overlooking Newport Beach's marina, The Lido Deck opened yesterday commencing its daily lunch and dinner service. The restaurant is owned and operated by chef husband-and-wife duo Don Schoenburg and Christi Carter who formerly were the executive chef and executive pastry chef for Tradition by Pascal also in Newport Beach. The restaurant offers three separate dining areas: the interior main dining room, the outside deck, plus a separate bar that opens up to the water. Menu items are mostly market-driven California-New American with not as many seafood options as one would expect for an eatery on the ocean. As an opening special The Lido Deck currently offers a three course $38 prix fixe.
