Cube Grows A Garden, Melgard Public House Opens Saturday

MID-CITY— So, Cube has a warehouse downtown. Owner Alexander Palermo decided to make use of its vacant rooftop by creating a garden in this once empty space, and in the near future the garden will produce organic fruits and veggies to stock the restaurant on La Brea. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Urban Daddy dishes on Melgard Public House's soft opening this coming Saturday, taking over the old Louise's Trattoria space. Apparently, MPH will serve 28 beers on tap, the usual slew of pub fare, plus free pizza during happy hour -- once the restaurant/bar actually opens. [UD]
