After 19 years of waiting, yesterday Escondido landed its first In-N-Out Burger. In 1991 the chain engaged in a dispute with the city over sign regulations, costing the city a branch of In-N-Out. However, fans lobbied city officials, and now, almost 20 years later, fans have won out. This debut was apparently the best thing since sliced bread for the town, some residents camped out over night (yup) to make In-N-Out history by being the first customers. Because of its location near two freeways, this new location is expected to be one of the busiest in the country [NCT]
