Toward the end of August, Rama officially took over that former Celadon space over on Third near Fairfax. With the Asian eatery's inception came word via management that a "celebrity chef" of sorts was involved in the project coming aboard in the next few weeks. So now, almost two months later, the crew over at Rama share an update: "We have appointed Perry Cheung former chef de cuisine of Slanted Door in San Francisco as chef de cuisine at Rama. He will still be under the direction of Executive chef Pannuwat Soukjai but will be introducing a late night dining menu and bar menu as well as dim sum on saturdays and sundays starting November 1." That dim sum menu, called Happy Beginning, will feature classics like Char Siu Bao, Pai Gut (pork ribs) Siu Mai, Shanghai Dumplings, and Har Gow to name few. Specialty soju cocktails will be on offer as well.
