Somewhat good news for fans of the defunct Shabu Shabu Ya by La Brea and 8th. Unfortunately, that eatery did shutter back in May, at which point Noir Wine Bar moved in serving small plates and vino. However, according to an employee, the concept didn't fare so well in the 'hood and many regulars of Shabu Shabu Ya complained/requested that the space become a shabu shabu restaurant again. The owners took heed and changed Noir from a wine bar back to a shabu shabu restaurant on October 11.
In terms of interior, the restaurant did not change much other than the tables which were modified to accomodate the hot pots. And for anyone looking to score a drink, the restaurant offers a small wine/drinks menu, but no relation to the previous wine bar concept.
